Products/materials testing is perhaps the most common form of conformity assessment and generally, it can include other activities like measurement and calibration. Testing also provides the basis for other forms of conformity assessment – for example, it is the main technique used in product certification.

QSAE operates well-equipped and modern testing laboratories capable of carrying out vast number of tests (presently about 580) in the following fields of testing.

• Mechanical testing (including construction materials, textiles, leather, and polymeric materials)
• Electrical testing
• Chemical testing
• Microbiological testing

The testing laboratories provide an efficient, impartial and cost effective service aimed at supporting government procurement efforts, industry, R&D, the general public/consumer and other users. In addition, the laboratories undertake tests as part of QSAE's own certification services and standards development programs.
