Withdrawal
requirements
Licenses (permits) issued for the use of the Quality
Mark are withdrawn in cases of noncompliance with the relevant requirements
specified in the certification schemes. Certification schemes are
specific rules that are based on Ethiopian Standards and Regulation
No. 13/1990, and to date relate only to the enforcement
of regulated products.
Failure in meeting the relevant requirements of
the certification schemes may result in license withdrawal. Some
conditions for taking such action are:
- If product fails to comply with the relevant
quality parameter(s) and the licensee is not capable/ready to
take corrective actions;
- If the licensee fails to pay the certification
fee;
- If the Quality Mark is found to be misused;
- If the licensee has stopped production of the
licensed product;
- If the licensee is bankrupt and is out of business;
and/or
- In the case of voluntary
product certification, on the licensee's own request.
