The current organizational structure
The current organizational structure of QSAE may
be viewed by opening the following files: organizational

chart in Amharic (PDF 61 KB).
Responsibilities/roles
of the core Directorates
- Standards and Metrology Directorate: Ethiopian
standards development, custodian of national etalons
- Quality Certification Directorate: Certification
of products and systems
- Quality Promotion and Training Directorate: Implementation
of ISO 9000 Quality Management System, training
- Inspection and Verification Services Directorate:
Regulation enforcement, batch product inspection and Laboratory
testing
- Corporate Services Directorate: Administrative,
financial and HRD support.
In addition, a Quality Manager under the Office
of the Director General works full-time with Authority-wide responsibilities
on quality management issues.
Branches and Representative Offices
QSAE has the following ten Branches and Representative
offices in the various parts of the country and in Djibouti.
- Addis Ababa Branch - Addis Ababa
- Central Branch- Nazareth
- North Western Branch - Bahir Dar
- Southern Branch - Awassa
- Eastern Branch - Dire Dawa
- Northern Branch - Makele
- North Eastern Branch - Dessie
- Western Representative Office - Jimma
- Moyale Representative office - Moyale
- Djibouti Representative office - Djibouti
At present the Branches and Representative Offices
provide product certification, calibration and verification services
within their areas of jurisdiction as well as acting as customer
enquiry point on the broad range of QSAE services. Arrangements
are underway to provide these offices with specialized facilities
to cater for specific needs of industries and consumers.
